Website Redesign

PROJECT INFO

This redesign was completed for my final JOU3411 project. I decided to redesign the website the Upside of Down, a site created to increase awareness of Down Syndrome. I truly believe in the mission of this organization and therefore chose to redesign its website to make its messages and mission more effective. The first image is the original design of http://www.upsideofdown.org.

First and foremost I decided to streamline the overall design. I chose to keep scrolling photos on the homepage, but instead of just having scrolling photos, the large photo also has a messages about upcoming events or items for sale in the site store. Below the main photo is a set of six photos (if you were to scroll down you would be able to see the rest) these boxes would be connected to a Flickr or photo account and would display photos from past events. In addition, I decided to cut down the navigation tabs to four main tabs. This will make finding information a bit easier for new visitors. In addition the store, blog and donate navigation buttons at the top of the page will be fixed on the top of each and every page for easy access.

*** This redesign was done for educational purposes and was never officially created for the web.
